Outstanding Lease Maintenance Award - Two Years in a Row

Each year the California Department of Convervation’s Division of Oil, Gas & Geothermal Resources conducts lease inspections to ensure all environmental regulations are being met. As part of this environmental compliance program, Division engineers recommend those leases that surpass regulatory requirements. In 2009 and 2010, the Division recognized Santa Maria Energy (previously known as Santa Maria Pacific) and its affiliate, Phoenix Energy LLC, for the companies’ outstanding lease maintenance and operations on the Careaga Lease in the Orcutt Oil Field.
